Script Frenzy, Done

On Thursday, June 21, 2007 at around 9pm, I finished the rough draft of my first movie script. At 20,217 words (approximately 114 pages), I also completed my first official Script Frenzy contest. All in just under three weeks, cool!
The Script Frenzy producers have had lots of success with their previous contest, the National Novel [...]

Three for Three - An Excerpt

[Edit. This is an excerpt from a draft of a novel I completed at the end of 2006. The novel had originally been published in entirety within separate posts (hence the "Part 17" designation in the page url), but I found this way of publishing unwieldy [...]

Green sunlight sparkles through the droplets of water Jill scatters into the air. She lifts her bare foot and swings it forward. This completes step 3,796 and splash 1,772 of water along the deserted coast. She glances back to see the how many foot prints remain, [...]

One new story today :)

Finished up a good short-story, Black, today. That, and another posting of my gleefully bad novel Three for Three.

Official start of my next novel

I’ve been toying with the idea for A Long Way Home as my second novel (my first good novel) for a bit. There’s some quote some where about, “If you want to actually finish a novel, tell the world you are writing one.”

Love Story

I’ve been having a bit of an identity crisis lately. That’s really okay with me. For all the facets of my identity that I like, there are many that I don’t. Perhaps the ones I don’t like will disappear and find someone else to bother.
Recently, I’ve been playing an inordinate amount of video games (which [...]

Wikinomics

Just finished the book Wikinomics by Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams. Excellent work. In the wiki tradition, instead of telling you about the book, go and participate in the writing of its spin-off at The Wikinomics Playbook.
My favorite two paragraphs are on the bottom page 275:
Sure, ask any manager if they would prefer [...]

I reach up to wipe away David’s tears and drop my tingly arm into the red bath water. His tears slide down my face but I feel nothing at all; they cross my lips but I taste no salt. His voice, and the entire scene, drops [...]
