November is dedicated to writing novels (www.nanowrimo.org). June, starting in 2007, is dedicated to writing scripts (www.scriptfrenzy.org). Starting from nothing on 12:00:01 a.m. on June 1st, 2007 write a 20,000 word movie script or screen play before the final buzzer sounds just after 11:59:59pm on June 30th, 2007.
The prize for finishing the 20,000 words: A pat on your back from your own hand. A rush of adrenaline. An opportunity to take someone you love out on a date just because.
There aren’t any official material prizes, just an opportunity to write and love it.
I’m on target to finish my first action movie script by next weekend, about halfway through the contest. I may have just found my calling. I LOVE action movies.
I’m tracking the word count over at the Script Frenzy site (here). If you want to watch the 20k race, go there.
And I’ll post my script here. Unlike my novel, it’s easy to read, a lot funnier, and a heck of a lot shorter.
