My friend Ian tipped me off to the movie adaptation of The Golden Compass. I liked the Chronic-WHAT-cles of Narnia. I’ve watched the Lord of the Rings special edition more times than I can remember. There’s something very special about Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy that no other story captures. Perhaps the movie studios will give The Golden Compass the treatment it deserves, as they did the other sets of previously mentioned movies.

I fully agree. And the big screen ‘Golden Compass’ is so far looking like a winner, at least in terms of production value. We’ll see how the complex plot plays out on screen.
